FAIR to Lay Out Immigration Reform Blueprint for Trump Transition at National Press Club

Trump to fix immigrationWASHINGTON, Nov. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to restore public interest to immigration policy. His initial appointments – including naming Sen. Jeff Sessions to be attorney general – indicate that he intends to make good on his campaign commitments.

Many of those reforms have been advocated by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). In anticipation that the new Trump administration will move quickly to secure the border and enforce America’s immigration laws, FAIR has prepared a step-by-step transition document to help the president-elect hit the ground running on January 20.

FAIR will lay out goals for the first 100 days, and a detailed agenda for reforming immigration policy in the public interest under the Trump administration at a news conference for credentialed media at the National Press Club. The document includes suggestions for overhauling the legal immigration process, addressing illegal immigration and enforcement of laws in the interior of the country, and refugee policy and national security.

FAIR looks forward to advising the new administration on true immigration reform.
